MC Sign Company is a single source national provider of signage and lighting solutions and services.  We offer a wide range of solutions including design, permitting, program management, retrofits, manufacturing, installation, on-demand sign service/maintenance, and lighting route planned maintenance.

We provide signage and lighting solutions for some of the nation's most recognizable blue chip companies in diverse end marketing including hospitality, petroleum, financial, quick service restaurants, and retail to name a few.



The Assistant Network Administrator will be required to install, configure, maintain, operate, and administer business systems, hardware and/or software across a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to, workstation support, server administration, network administration, information security, and network connectivity.

This person will also be responsible for assisting in maintaining the desktop/laptop environment.  This means building PC and laptops (hardware and software), keeping virus definitions current, keeping OS patches/updates current, maintaining components (memory, disk, etc.), water falling hardware, etc.

Additional duties will include network-level troubleshooting, maintenance, and implementation as directed by the Infrastructure Manager.


Essential Functions

  • Assist in maintaining server environment including, but not all inclusive, VMware, Citrix, Windows Systems, Trend Micro, Veeam backup appliance, and stand-alone servers.
  • Assist with the purchase of technology and IT equipment
  • Assist in set-up, configuring, and supporting internal and/or external networks
  • Identify technology gaps and propose new creative solutions
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQ resources on the internet to aid in problem resolution
  • Available to be on call on weekends and evenings to respond to staff, or handle issues on system infrastructure
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users
  • Become familiar with MC Sign Company policies, services, and staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the Infrastructure Manager


Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support over the phone
  • Train users, answer questions and interpret instructions in order to ensure that end users are familiar with how hardware and software works
  • Documents hardware and software changes for future reference

  • Thorough familiarity with Microsoft Office suites 2010 and up, including Office 365
  • Hands-on support of Windows server (2008/2012), MS Exchange (2010/2016), MSSQL, MS SharePoint, Active Directory, Group Policies, HTTPS, FTP(S), DNS, SNMP, RDP, HTTP, Monitoring and Reporting Systems
  • Experience with networking and core Internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP
  • Experience working with virus and malware prevention, detection, and removal
  • Experience with hardware clustering and virtualization including VMware cluster environments
  • Experience managing Windows Server 2003, 2008R2, 2012
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN environments and protocols
  • SAN experience preferred
  • Experience with backup and restore operations
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-tiered environments and mission critical systems in high availability configurations
  • Scripting with languages such as Windows PowerShell


Education, experience, certifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the IT field
  • 2+ years of experience in the IT field required
  • A+, network+, MCP Certified (preferred)


Additional information

  • Expected work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in our Mentor office, with overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to respond reasonably to emergency situations, power outages, network outages, viruses, etc. quickly.
